Kunst-Cirque Antology
The Company My!Laika, by now having renounced – or postponed – the comprehension
of the world, decides to go back to the incomprehensible to create their own phantasmagoric universe.
Circus serves as an artistic medium that exposes the results without pretensions, exploiting the
immediate and spontaneous reality that arise from risky and/or improvised scenic situations.
The side-specific play DOMOI is an anthology, a “best of”, created out of the My!Laika repertoir from
Popcorn Machine, Dekalè, Laerte and the new show of the company, Full Out.
The selected scenes are adapted to the respective venue and are connected in the typical absurdist
way of My!Laika’s plays. DOMOI is received with enthousiasm by organizers and public, also and because
the company adapts the contents and the technical possibilities to the respectivesite and its public.
The show can be played in theatres, museums, warehouses, farms, castles, …
The protagonists of this
show refuse the linear narration, searching inspiration in the places where they create, every
location supplies the exhibition with aestheticandconceptual material. Their tridimensional collage
invokes images that merge with sounds, distant persons, places, strange issues in a swirl of physical
and musical acrobatics.
Traces of sadism frame the stupidity of the circus action, para - philosophical
disquisitions underline the needlessness of the show, evidencing its importance.
“The aim of the game is not theatre any more, neither is it circus,
but it is the retina, the perception. The sudden contrasts of black and white, the interweavement
of the physical and the mental universe.
The perception, always subjective, of facts and visions are elements of my operations.
Their role is not any more to immerge the observer into a sweat evasion, but to stimulate him,
and his eye with him.”
